Modern Crochet Wall Hanging
difficulty level: intermediate
Time for another scrap yarn win! :) This go around, I'm using super bulky scraps as well as multiple strands of aran + DK weights held together to bring you this super cute and modern crochet wall hanging pattern!
Some of you may remember my Neon Waves Mini Wall Hanging that I designed a few years ago. Well, I've been wanting to create a bulky weight (full size) version for a while, and I thought now was a perfect time!
This Neon Waves Remix is very similar to my original pattern, just with a few extras like the spike stitch, double treble crochet and triple treble crochet. I also amped up the fringe factor cause...YAY for fringe!! ;) This one also comes with a step by step video tutorial, so if that is up your alley, you can find it below!

I attached my fringe and then cut it after I hung my tapestry, so I put the instructions in that order.
attaching fringe
Cut 216 strands (6 strands/ST) approximately 20" long of Color C (without crochet thread). With right side of wall hanging facing you, insert your crochet hook in TRTR from the wrong side to the right side. Place 6 yarn strands over the crochet hook and bring slightly through to the wrong side - until you have a loop big enough to pull all yarn tails through. Bring your yarn tails through that loop and pull to tighten. Adjust as necessary to make all yarn strands uniform. REP for each of the 36 STS.
hanging your tapestry
Thread tapestry needle with a long enough strand of yarn or twine to sew the whole width of your wall hanging. Make sure your wall hanging is centered on your branch or bar. Begin by inserting your needle on right side into one ST from the top of the wall hanging. Bring yarn/twine around the branch/bar and tie in a knot to secure. Continue with this process - insert needle in one ST, bring around branch... - for the entire length of your wall hanging. If your branch/bar is asymmetrical like mine, remember that some of your loops will be longer than others. Click [here] and skip ahead to 41:10 in the video to see how I attached my wall hanging.
cutting fringe
Cut fringe straight across to desired length or in an upside down "V" as shown in the photos. Click [here] and skip ahead to 42:30 in the video to see how I cut my fringe.
Congrats on your wall hanging! :)
