How to Crochet the Bobble Stitch

crochet tutorial

Aren't bobbles the cutest thing?! They are just happy little stitches that are so fun to make! Let's learn how to crochet the bobble stitch!

I can't remember exactly, but I think I first fell in love with the bobble stitch when I made the Shades Of Indigo Pattern by Two Of Wands. (That pattern is awesome, by the way, and I highly recommend it!) I also love me a bobble border. It's crocheted a little differently than the bobble stitch, but still just as cute and whimsical! I have a tutorial for that as well if you would like to check it out! Just click the button below....

But, I digress...back to the bobble stitch... ;)

You will be working your bobble stitches on the wrong side of your project and they will pop out on the right side. There isn't just one stitch that can accompany the bobble stitch either - I used double crochet for this tutorial in between each bobble and for the rows in between, but you could use single crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet....Get creative and have fun playing around with this cutie stitch!

Another couple of ways you can make your bobble stitches unique is by making them larger, smaller or a contrasting color. To increase or decrease the size, just repeat steps 1-3 below more or less times. I walk you through, step-by-step, in the video below on how to add a contrasting color bobble.
