Crochet a Headband
with Fabric Yarn
difficulty level: easy
First up on the fabric yarn agenda - these super cute boho headbands! I made lots of these when I first opened my Etsy shop! And I had so much fun finding new batik fabrics and materials to use for them! Here are just a few that I've made over the years...
I used leather quite a bit for these headbands as well. This leather lace from Hobby Lobby works great! There are several color options and the turquoise is definitely one of my faves! :)
This tutorial is very beginner friendly! If you know how to make a crochet chain then you are good to go! In the video below, I walk you through step-by-step on how to make your crochet headband - from finding the perfect measurement for your custom size, to hand-sewing the elastic band on your headband. You can decide if you want to make a single, double or triple-strand!...Or maybe all three! ;) All of these styles are covered in the video!
what you will need:
measuring tape
scissors
needle & thread
needle-nose pliers
3/8" or 1/2" braided elastic
crochet hook/s (I use 4.25mm & 6.5mm)
fabric yarn strips at least 2 1/2 yds long (you can also use leather lace or cord - it just needs to be something that's durable and doesn't stretch too much)
